Projects

Note: The below are projects completed while Dr. Fitz was faculty at the University of Florida. UF IFAS is a Land Grant Institution, including research and research-application (Extension) duties of faculty (indicated in projects below).

Dec 2012 -- Initiate (research) project of 'Integrative muli-modeling for FCE III', as part of the Florida Coastal Everglades LTER project, and supported by National Science Foundation via a subcontract from Florida International University. (Regardless, we have been collaborating on FCE modeling since 2001).

Sep 2011 -- Initiate (research & extension) project to develop and apply a sulfate module for ELM for CERP Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) project, a supplemental extension of 'Applying Everglades Landscape Model to Dynamically Integrate Hydrology, Water Quality, Soils, Periphyton, and Vegetation to Support Water Conservation Area 3A Decompartmentalization', supported by US Army Corps of Engineers.

Mar 2011 -- Initiate (research & extension) project of 'Applying Everglades Landscape Model to Dynamically Integrate Hydrology, Water Quality, Soils, Periphyton, and Vegetation to Support Water Conservation Area 3A Decompartmentalization', supported by US Army Corps of Engineers.

Apr 2010 -- Initiate (research & extension) Cooperative Agreement for modeling hydro-ecological dynamics and social drivers of water use and land use changes, supported by Spanish Observatory for Sustainability and FLREC.

Jan 2008 -- Initiate (research & extension) project of 'ELM support for restoration of WCA-1', supported by South Florida Water Management District.

Aug 2007 -- Conduct 4-day (extension) training on Everglades Landscape Model (ELM), supported by CERP Interagency Modeling Center.
